To begin this journey toward the highest peak on the planet has been anything but simple. It started a year ago with a global pandemic announcement; then there were numerous lockdowns while trying to train; daily changes in rules and regulations in travelling between countries; injuries and health scares; new documents to fill it/demanded at the last minute and so on. Our new middle name is ‘Backup Plan’.Therefore it is a small miracle that we actually made it to Kathmandu, Nepal, in one piece, with all our luggage and healthy. We have a ‘relaxed’ quarantine, meaning that we can go out, but firmly keeping the masks on and social distancing, like we would do at home. The second pcr test will be done in a couple of days and all being well, then we are off to the mountains. Very happy and excited.
